Matt's parents bought a brand new beautiful stationwagon in late 1978. I remember test driving it, and
I remember my parents being worried that the AM radio couldn't pick up much. I ended up using it when I
started driving in high school (1986), and when I moved out, I ended up inheriting it. It has provided
outstanding service to me as I've had it in college (only 30 minutes from home at Mary Washington College),
and when I took it up to graduate school (Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island). Before I started
using the car, my dad drove it as his commuter car, hence this car has about 215,000 miles on it. Considering
that my mom got hit by a tractor trailer in it, and I totaled it when I was 16 (and I paid to repair it), it's
doing quite well. The latest repair included breaking one of the bolts from the intake manifold which secures
the thermostat housing. Drilling the bolt out was unsuccessful, so now the thermostat housing is held on via a
c-clamp. No leaks. Any guesses where there is another c-clamp holding something together on this car? :-)
